grand jeté
Airborne dancer's split
A grand jeté is a ballet leap in which the dancer springs from one foot, extends both legs in a full split while airborne, and lands on the opposite foot.
The movement creates the illusion of flying or floating across the stage: The ballerina executed a flawless grand jeté across the diagonal.
