Double-sided Talmud page
A daf is a large frame drum used in Middle Eastern and Central Asian music, particularly in Persian, Kurdish, and Sufi traditions.
It consists of a wooden ring with an animal skin stretched across one side, often decorated with metal rings or chains that jingle when struck.
The daf features prominently in devotional music and folk celebrations: The daf players led the procession.
