cougars
Tawny American predators
Cougars are large wild cats native to the Americas, also called mountain lions, pumas, or panthers.
They're solitary predators ranging from Canadian wilderness to South American mountains.
In slang, a cougar is an older woman who pursues younger men romantically or sexually: She's a cougar—her boyfriend is twenty years younger.
The term can be playful or disparaging depending on context.
