cougar attack

A cougar attack is an assault by a mountain lion on a person or animal.

These large cats rarely attack humans, but encounters occasionally turn dangerous in wilderness areas where their territories overlap with hiking trails or residential development.

The jogger survived the cougar attack with minor injuries.

In humorous usage, a cougar attack describes an older woman aggressively pursuing a younger man—playing on the slang sense of cougar as a predatory older female.
