cosponsorship
Shared legislative support
Cosponsorship is the act of jointly sponsoring something—typically legislation, an event, or a proposal—alongside one or more other parties.
In legislative contexts, cosponsorship signals support for a bill introduced by another member: The senator added her cosponsorship to the climate bill.
The term also applies to shared funding or backing of programs, research, or events.
