coronoid process

Mandible's bony prominence

A coronoid process is a beak-shaped projection of bone.

The term appears in two anatomical contexts: the coronoid process of the mandible, a pointed projection on the lower jaw where the temporalis muscle attaches, and the coronoid process of the ulna, which forms part of the elbow joint and helps stabilize it during movement.
