corn husker
Removes maize coverings
A corn husker is a person or machine that removes the husk—the leafy outer covering—from ears of corn.
Before mechanization, husking was done by hand, often at communal gatherings called husking bees.
Modern corn huskers are mechanical devices that strip husks efficiently during harvest.
The old corn husker could process fifty bushels an hour.
