cazuela
Earthenware cooking vessel
Cazuela is a traditional earthenware cooking pot used in Spanish and Latin American cuisine, typically shallow with a glazed interior.
The word also refers to dishes prepared in such a pot—hearty stews of meat, vegetables, and broth: We ordered the cazuela de mariscos.
In Chile, cazuela specifically denotes a soup with large pieces of meat, corn, and squash.
