coproducing

Making something together

Coproducing is working with others to create something jointly.

The term appears most often in entertainment—films, television shows, albums, and theatrical productions where multiple producers share creative or financial responsibility: The studios are coproducing a big-budget action film.

It also applies to collaborative creation in other fields: The community and local government are coproducing the neighborhood plan.
