coplanar

Sharing one surface

Coplanar describes points, lines, or shapes that lie in the same plane—a flat, two-dimensional surface extended infinitely.

In geometry, three points are always coplanar (any three points define a plane), but four or more points may or may not be: The four corners of a square are coplanar; the corners of a pyramid are not.

The term appears in physics, engineering, and computer graphics when alignment matters.
