control arms
Wheel-locating suspension links
Control arms are suspension components in vehicles that connect the wheel hub or steering knuckle to the frame or body, allowing wheels to move up and down while maintaining proper alignment.
They pivot on bushings and typically feature ball joints at the outer end.
Most modern vehicles use upper and lower control arms, or a single control arm paired with a strut, depending on suspension design.
The mechanic said my worn control arms were causing the steering to feel loose.
