codependencies
Unhealthy emotional attachments
Codependencies is the plural of codependency, a relationship pattern where one person enables another's dysfunction—addiction, immaturity, irresponsibility—while deriving identity or purpose from the caretaking role.
The term originated in addiction treatment but now describes any mutually reinforcing unhealthy dynamic: Their codependencies kept both of them stuck.
