climbing routes
Ways up walls
Climbing routes are established paths up rock faces, ice walls, or artificial climbing structures.
Each route has a name, a difficulty rating, and follows a specific line of holds or features.
Climbers speak of sending a route (completing it), projecting a route (working toward completion), or putting up a route (establishing a new one).
Routes range from beginner-friendly to elite.
