cheekpiece
Side face protector
A cheekpiece is a part of something that rests against or covers the cheek.
On a bridle, cheekpieces are the straps running along a horse's face connecting the bit to the headstall.
On a rifle or shotgun, the cheekpiece is a raised portion of the stock where the shooter rests their face while aiming.
Helmets and armor may also have cheekpieces protecting the sides of the face.
