cavitary
Having internal spaces
Cavitary describes something containing or characterized by cavities—hollow spaces within a solid structure.
The term appears almost exclusively in medical contexts, particularly describing lung conditions: cavitary tuberculosis, cavitary lesions on the chest X-ray.
A cavitary disease creates holes in tissue that would normally be solid.
