cassava flour
Ground tropical tuber
Cassava flour is a fine powder made from the starchy root of the cassava plant, used as a gluten-free alternative to wheat flour.
Unlike tapioca starch, which extracts only the starch, cassava flour uses the whole root, giving it a more neutral flavor and texture closer to wheat: I substituted cassava flour in the recipe.
