Lime and cachaça
A caipirinha is Brazil's national cocktail, made with cachaça (a sugarcane spirit), lime, sugar, and ice.
The lime is muddled with sugar to release its oils, then combined with the liquor: We ordered caipirinhas at the beach bar.
Variations substitute other spirits—a caipiroska uses vodka instead.
