capsulation

Wrapping something up

Capsulation is the act or process of enclosing something in a capsule, or the state of being so enclosed.

The term appears in pharmaceutical contexts—capsulation of medication—and in biology, where tissue may form a protective membrane around a foreign body or infection.

More commonly rendered as encapsulation.
