Folded pizza pockets
Calzones are folded pizzas—dough wrapped around fillings like ricotta, mozzarella, and meat, then baked or fried.
The Italian word means "trouser legs," presumably from the shape.
Unlike pizza, the toppings are sealed inside: I ordered a calzone stuffed with sausage and peppers.
