Puglia

Italy's southeastern region

Puglia is a region in southeastern Italy, forming the heel of the Italian boot.

Known for its olive groves, whitewashed villages, and coastal towns, it has become a popular tourist destination.

The region produces much of Italy's olive oil and wine.

English speakers sometimes use the anglicized form Apulia, though Puglia has become standard in travel and food writing.
