boot repair
Fixing worn footwear
Boot repair is the service or craft of restoring worn or damaged boots to functional condition.
This includes resoling, restitching, replacing heels, and conditioning leather.
A good cobbler can extend a boot's life for years: I took my hiking boots in for repair rather than buying new ones.
The term also appears in computing, where boot repair refers to fixing problems that prevent a computer from starting up properly.
