bookmarker

Reading spot keeper

A bookmarker is a person who marks books—either someone who places bookmarks in volumes, or more commonly, someone who dog-ears pages or otherwise marks passages.

The word also serves as a less common variant of bookmark itself: She used an old receipt as a bookmarker.
