bone yard

Where junkers rest

A bone yard is a place where bones accumulate—originally a cemetery, now more commonly a storage area for discarded machinery, vehicles, or equipment: The old airplane bone yard stretched for miles across the desert.

In dominoes, the bone yard is the pile of undrawn tiles.

Also spelled boneyard.
