blank CD

Burnable storage medium

A blank CD is a compact disc with no data recorded on it, ready to be written to.

In the 1990s and 2000s, blank CDs were widely used for burning music compilations, backing up files, or sharing software.

I need to buy some blank CDs to make a mix for the road trip.

The format has largely been replaced by USB drives and cloud storage.
