banderol
Narrow decorative streamer
A banderol is a long, narrow flag or streamer, typically forked at the end, attached to a lance, ship's mast, or building.
In art and architecture, it refers to a ribbon-like scroll bearing an inscription or motto, often depicted flowing from a figure's mouth or hand in medieval and Renaissance paintings: The angel held a banderol reading "Gloria in Excelsis".
