ball court
Sports game venue
A ball court is a playing area designed for ball games—tennis courts, basketball courts, squash courts.
The term also refers specifically to the stone-walled courts used in Mesoamerican civilizations for ritual ball games, where players struck a rubber ball with their hips: Archaeologists excavated an ancient ball court at the Mayan site.
