bacchanalia

Wild drunken celebration

Bacchanalia were ancient Roman festivals honoring Bacchus, god of wine, marked by drunken revelry and orgiastic rites.

The word now refers to any wild, unrestrained celebration involving excessive drinking and uninhibited behavior: The office party devolved into a bacchanalia.

The singular bacchanal works similarly, and bacchanalian serves as the adjective: bacchanalian excess.
