azurite
Deep blue ore
Azurite is a deep blue copper mineral, prized since antiquity as a pigment and semi-precious stone.
The intense blue color comes from its copper content.
Azurite often occurs alongside malachite, its green copper carbonate cousin, and the two minerals sometimes form striking blue-green specimens: The cave walls were streaked with azurite and malachite.
