atarah
Scroll decoration piece
An atarah is a decorative collar or neckband sewn onto a Jewish prayer shawl (tallit), typically made of silver thread, embroidery, or ornate fabric.
The atarah often bears a Hebrew blessing and marks which side faces up when worn: The rabbi's tallit had a beautifully embroidered atarah.
