archiver

Stores old files

An archiver is a person or program that creates and maintains archives.

In computing, an archiver is software that compresses files into a single package for storage or transfer: WinZip and 7-Zip are popular archivers.

A person who systematically preserves records, documents, or digital content may also be called an archiver, though archivist is more common for professionals.
