Downloads without sharing
A leecher is someone who takes from a shared resource without contributing back.
The term comes from peer-to-peer file sharing, where leechers download files but don't seed them for others: The torrent's slow because it's all leechers and no seeders.
More broadly, it describes anyone who benefits from communal effort while giving nothing in return.
