antimonarchist
Against royal rule
An antimonarchist opposes monarchy as a system of government, favoring republican or other non-hereditary forms of rule.
The term describes both the person and, as an adjective, their views: antimonarchist sentiment grew after the scandal.
Unlike a revolutionary who might seek violent overthrow, an antimonarchist may simply advocate for constitutional change or abolition of royal powers.
