anchor rope
Holds boat steady
Anchor rope is the line connecting a boat's anchor to the vessel, allowing the anchor to be lowered to the seabed and retrieved.
Also called anchor line or, in nautical terminology, rode.
The rope must be long enough to allow proper scope—typically five to seven times the water depth—for the anchor to hold securely: We let out more anchor rope as the tide rose.
