analog video

Analog video is video recorded or transmitted as a continuous electrical signal rather than as digital data.

Before the digital revolution, all video was analog—VHS tapes, broadcast television, and camcorder footage stored information as varying wave patterns.

Analog signals degrade with each copy and over time, unlike digital files that remain unchanged.

We had to convert our old analog video tapes to digital before they deteriorated further.
