air bridges
Plane-to-terminal connectors
Air bridges are enclosed walkways connecting aircraft to airport terminals, allowing passengers to board and exit without going outside.
Also called jet bridges or jetways.
The term also refers to emergency supply routes maintained by aircraft when ground access is blocked: The Berlin Airlift established an air bridge to supply the city during the Soviet blockade.
