air bridge

Terminal-to-aircraft passage

An air bridge is a route for transporting people or supplies by aircraft, typically when ground routes are blocked or impractical: The Berlin Airlift established an air bridge to supply the blockaded city.

In aviation, an air bridge is also the enclosed walkway connecting an airport terminal to an aircraft door—called a jet bridge or jetway in American English.
