Yankeedom

Northern American region

Yankeedom refers to the region, culture, or collective identity of Yankees—historically, the northern United States, especially New England.

The term can carry affection or derision depending on who's using it: He never quite fit into Yankeedom after moving from Georgia.

It sometimes appears in discussions of American regional cultures, describing a distinct sphere of values, customs, and attitudes associated with the North.
