WCTU

Anti-alcohol women's group

WCTU is the Woman's Christian Temperance Union, a Protestant organization founded in 1874 to advocate for alcohol prohibition.

The WCTU was instrumental in the campaign that led to the Eighteenth Amendment banning alcohol sales in the United States.

The organization still exists but has little influence today.
