VTuber
Animated online personality
A VTuber is a video content creator who appears as a digital avatar rather than showing their real face.
The term combines "virtual" and "YouTuber," though VTubers stream across many platforms.
The avatar—typically anime-styled—is animated in real time using motion-capture technology that tracks the performer's facial expressions and movements: My favorite VTuber just started streaming.
Some VTubers maintain elaborate fictional personas; others simply use the avatar as a mask while being themselves.
