Thracian

From ancient Balkans

Thracian refers to the ancient region of Thrace, which spanned parts of modern Bulgaria, Greece, and Turkey, or to its people and language.

The Thracians were an Indo-European people known to the Greeks as fierce warriors and skilled horsemen: Thracian cavalry served in Persian and Macedonian armies.

The Thracian language, now extinct, is poorly attested.
