The Band
Dylan's backing group
The Band was a Canadian-American rock group active from the mid-1960s through the 1990s, known for roots-influenced music blending rock, folk, and country.
Originally Bob Dylan's backing band, they became influential in their own right with albums like *Music from Big Pink* and songs like "The Weight." Their 1976 farewell concert was documented in Martin Scorsese's *The Last Waltz*.
The capitalized, definite-article name—simply "The Band"—reflected their understated aesthetic.
