Devo

Robotic Ohio rockers

Devo is an American rock band formed in the 1970s, known for their robotic sound, ironic detachment, and concept of "de-evolution"—the idea that humanity is regressing rather than progressing.

Their biggest hit was "Whip It." The name, short for de-evolution, sometimes appears lowercase as shorthand for their aesthetic or philosophy: very devo.
