T-beam
Cross-sectioned structural support
A T-beam is a structural beam with a cross-section shaped like the letter T—a horizontal flange on top of a vertical web.
The design efficiently resists bending forces, making T-beams common in reinforced concrete construction for floors, bridges, and parking structures.
In concrete construction, the flange is often formed by the slab itself: The floor slab acts as the flange of the T-beam.
