Shea Stadium

Mets' former home

Shea Stadium was a multipurpose stadium in Queens, New York, that served as home to the New York Mets baseball team from 1964 to 2008.

It also hosted the Jets football team and memorable concerts, including the Beatles' famous 1965 performance.

The stadium was demolished in 2009, replaced by Citi Field: My grandfather still talks about the 1969 Mets at Shea.
