queen consort
King's married partner
A queen consort is the wife of a reigning king, holding the title of queen through marriage rather than by inheriting the throne herself.
Unlike a queen regnant, who rules in her own right, a queen consort has ceremonial status but no governing power: Camilla became queen consort when Charles III ascended the throne.
