Seven Years' War

Mid-eighteenth-century conflict

The Seven Years' War (1756–1763) was a global conflict involving most European powers, fought across Europe, North America, India, and the Caribbean.

Britain and Prussia opposed France, Austria, and Russia.

The war reshaped colonial empires—Britain gained French Canada and dominance in India.

In American history, the North American theater is called the French and Indian War.
