war debt
Military spending owed
War debt is money owed by a government as a result of financing military conflict.
The term usually refers to obligations between nations—loans extended by one country to another during wartime: European war debts to the United States after World War I remained contentious for decades.
War debt may also describe a nation's internal borrowing to fund military operations.
