Grammy

Recording industry honor

A Grammy is an award given annually by the Recording Academy for achievement in the music industry, comparable to the Oscars for film.

Named after the gramophone trophy recipients receive, Grammys recognize categories from Album of the Year to Best Polka Album: She won three Grammys for that record.

Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated function as prestigious credentials. (Lowercase grammy is an informal term for grandmother.)
