ROVs
Tethered ocean explorers
ROVs is the plural of ROV, remotely operated vehicle—an unmanned craft controlled from a distance, typically tethered by cable.
Most often refers to underwater vehicles used for deep-sea exploration, offshore oil operations, and shipwreck investigation: The ROVs captured footage of the Titanic's hull.
Also applies to aerial and ground-based remote vehicles.
