HOVs
Multi-passenger vehicles, briefly
HOVs are high-occupancy vehicles—cars, vans, or buses carrying multiple passengers.
The term appears mainly in traffic contexts: HOV lanes on highways give priority to vehicles with two or more occupants, encouraging carpooling to reduce congestion.
HOVs can use the express lane during rush hour.
